The Barre: There’s No Better Place To Hang
Plenty of our female members are barre flies, although guys are joining the fun. They’re after a kick-butt, low stress workout that sculpts arms, melts muffin tops, improves posture, and strengthens muscles just as much as the ladies are. As “Good Sweat” suggests, the barre movement is definitely catching on among average Jills and Joes, professional athletes, marathon runners, hobby tennis players and weekend golfers. We’re proud to have been the first gym in the Aiken/Augusta area to introduce this popular group fitness class. It’s one of the services that gives us a leg up on the competition. Now, “Good Sweat” has proclaimed 2015 the year to belly up for these five reasons.
A word of caution, however. Not all studios are legit. Ours is certified by the original BarreAmped® and its creator Suzanne Bowen. If you wanna “shake to change,” come see us. The first class is free. Here’s what you should know:
Lesson #1: You’ve got to start somewhere. The studio is filled with people of all ages, fitness levels, sizes and shapes. Some are flexible; others are stiff as a board. Some are thin. Some are trying to get thin. And no one can perform every single exercise perfectly — not even the instructor.
Lesson #2: It’s not supposed to be easy.
It might hurt. It might burn. Your body might shake trying to hold a pose. For a brief moment you might question why you signed up. Trust us. That will pass and you’ll be glad you did it. Focus on the fact that after a few sessions your body will begin to transform.
Lesson #3: If your legs are shaking your body is changing.
Sore? Tired? Out of breath? Good, it’s working. You will survive, and when it’s over you’ll feel good. So good, in fact, that you’ll try it again.
Lesson #4: Little changes bring big results.
BarreAmped® is a sequence of small but focused movements that can shape your body the same way that tiny adjustments in your everyday routine can change your life.
