Functional fitness sessions train your muscles to do everyday activities safely and efficiently — ordinary things like carrying groceries or playing with your kids. These exercises are especially beneficial for older adults to improve balance, agility and muscle strength, and reduce the risk of falls. Village Fitness offers several levels of functional training:
Industrial Strength — IS for short — is a full-body workout designed to increase strength and power. All levels of fitness are welcome. Industrial Strength is about feeling better and finding total wellness through flexibility, agility, balance and cardiovascular endurance. IS can help you achieve your next level of fitness.
When you’re ready to amp up your workout, this is the program for you. Many people strength train with weights. Others do cardio or aerobics. Somewhere between is Afterburn. It’s a fat blaster, for sure. Elevating your metabolic rate is the key to burning body flab. The secret is not to burn fat while you are working out, but afterward. That’s what Afterburn does. It’s deliberately formatted to prevent boredom while challenging isolated muscle groups. Each session is tailored to keep the body guessing, making it resistant to the workout “slump.”
Regular participants achieve undeniable results in minimal time. Our trainers design workouts that can be tailored to target individual client goals, while no two classes are ever quite the same. Modifications can be made as necessary to enhance or accommodate each participant’s experience.
Foundations is for members who are new to working out. Each session quickly teaches people of all ages and fitness tools to fix many chronic ailments that plague their daily lives, including pains in our back, knees, hips, shoulders and neck. Learning fundamental movements and connecting the muscular chains teaches you to move naturally so that your body weight is evenly absorbed. When that happens, you engage more muscles in every step you take, every sport you play, and every exercise you perform.
